A tea for Dumpling Festival

The fragrance of rice dumplings fills the air as Dumpling Festival approaches.

Rice dumplings have evolved over the years, varying in size, fillings and taste across regions and dialect groups. The star ingredient remains the same - sticky glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves.

Rice Dumpling

It is hence, an apt time for this seasonal tea feature on the Glutinous Rice Pu'erh. Contrary to its name, this Yunnan specialty tea actually contains no rice.

Glutinous Rice Pu-erh - Pressed Tea

Instead, it is made from Pu'erh tea leaves and scented with an indigenous herb - 糯米香 (Glutinous Rice Fragrance), known for its aromatic and medicinal properties. When the herb is crushed, it releases a sweet distinctive rice aroma.

Luo Mi Xiang Herb

Delightfully compatible with the dark earthy Pu'erh, it produces a full-bodied tea that has a smooth mellow taste and lasting sweet rice fragrance.

With no astringency or bitterness, this is an easy-to-enjoy tea for anyone, from regular tea drinkers to beginners. Just like Pu'erh, the Glutinous Tea Fragrance herb is also said to have detoxifying and digestive properties, making this tea a good after-meal drink.

Or when you have too many rice dumplings.
